In this Portfolio class project, a poster was developed for the movie "Tropa de Elite" - Elite Squad (2007) in both physical and digital formats. The proposal sought to create a minimalist and expressive composition, using textures and symbolic elements that invite the public to feel and interpret the work in a deeper way. The end result is a visual campaign that instigates curiosity and proposes a new way of looking at the film.
The aim of this project was to develop a poster for the film Tropa de Elite (2007) in two formats: physical (29cm x 42cm) and digital (1000x1000px). The proposal sought to create a visual piece that could be adapted to different platforms, while maintaining the same essence in both formats, with a focus on conveying the atmosphere of the film in an impactful and visually cohesive way.
Tropa de Elite, widely known as “Elite Squad - Mission Given is Mission Accomplished”, is a 2007 Brazilian police drama film directed by José Padilha, who also wrote the screenplay with Braulio Mantovani and Rodrigo Pimentel, and produced with Marcos Prado. This movie is based on elements in the book “Elite da Tropa”, by André Batista and Rodrigo Pimentel, in partnership with Luiz Eduardo Soares. This film is about urban violence in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, with the help of the Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE) and the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The aim of this project was to create a poster for the movie Elite Squad (2007) that, instead of following the traditional style of highlighting the cast, focused on conveying emotions and arousing curiosity. The proposal was to use a minimalist, textured design, with symbolic elements that would acquire greater meaning after watching the movie, creating a deeper connection with the audience.
